Friendship and Love.
Love and Friendship.
If there’s one thing I learned after reading Levithan’s and Cohn’s Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List, certainly, it goes as this: That friendship and love cannot exist without the presence of each other. Friendship will never last if there is no love and love will never be true if there is no friendship.
I may not know how painful it is to love someone who will never love you the way you expect them to. I may never know what it feels like to live all your life with clouded fantasies and veiled dreams. All I know is that once you love someone, no matter how unrequited that love is, it will stay there. It will remain forever still in the deepest dens of the heart.
And this is where friendship comes in. A love that is built from a genuine friendship will last eternity. Friendship is the foundation of all relationships. No matter how many heartaches love brings, friendship fades it all. It wipes away the tears that love shed. It cradles the exhausted heart that love made. Friendship is the ends of love.
“When love is lost, friendship remains.”
Which I believe to be true. Whatever happens to love, friendship stays the same.
To end this realizations, I would quote what Ely said in the end :
“It’s a total lie to say that there’s only one person you’re going to be with for the rest of your life. If you’re lucky— if you try really hard— there will always be more than one.”
